I am wanting to try something i use to do on my old servers. The server economy was very strongly ran by players, not by selling freaking XP. So we are building a new spawn, and it will have a "mall" area. You can rent out a plot and build on it and make a shop. There are 4 different tiers of shop space. Emerald being the highest, iron being the lowest. Each one will range at a different price and it will have to be payed once a week. The server will still have a small shop, but i feel like the server will be more fun if there is more player ran things instead of just server ran. Here is a picture of what it looks like right now. *** NOTE *** This does not mean a reset of any kind.(yet ;-) ;-) )
This is horrible and ugly as hell. Sorry, just bump on sell prices for farm items and buff prices for building blocks and you shop will be A1.
The only reason the economy may be run on xp farming is because the sell prices on everything else are horrid and xp is so easily gained in comparison.
This isn't forsure the final thing, however it could be. The colors are to show the price and worth of them. There will be features added such as walls around it and what not. Yes, this is something else we are looking into.
CaptainBob I already had a mall on my island >.< makes me angry that now people won't think of it as a "One of a kind," anymore.
Actually build, we were going to have a mall on OSB before the reset but we never got around to having it so now with the reset, we are implementing it.
Sounds interesting at least. I'd be willing to give it a try, but I'm worried that it would detract from shops setup on player islands.
I think it's a cool idea that has a lot of potential. I mean I really loved my old shop on my island and all, but I think having all shops run by players being in the same building, is a smart idea and makes it easier for new players to navigate the server to find places to buy the items they need.
