I saw a youtube video recently where a better method of how to make a sugarcane farm better. Here is the link if you dont want to watch it or don't quite understand what to do(I think it explains it well) make your farm look like this (I hope you can see this image. Basically swap your redstone and stone you need something to put the redstone on but that is pretty easy to add. it makes it around twice as efficient than if it was normal.
