PenguinCT Ban Appeal

Penguin CT Ban Appeal:

I’m familiar with the format that I am meant to use, evidenced by the other 7 ban appeals with my name on them. I’ve decided to disregard it because, at this point, I care much less about getting unbanned than I do about apologizing to all the staff for my worst moments and thanking them for my best.

I used to play on the skyblock.co IP before it was this server in 3rd or 4th grade. My friend Zane introduced it to me, and I also played with my friend Carter. We had all bought some mycelium from the store shop and bonemealed the red mushrooms to each get our own big mushroom. Even back then, I was a bit of a menace and after getting pissed at Carter in school, I griefed his mushroom. When neither Zane or I would take credit for it, I said the server staff must have griefed us. The lie worked well enough, and Carter just grew a new mushroom.

For a few years, I would periodically log into the server and I remember playing skygrid for a while when it came out. However, for a while, I didn’t play the game.

At some point in the 2018-2019 reset, I started playing the server again with another friend. We made a big cocoa wall with pistons, a u-shaped sugar cane farm, and even got one of those over-powered iron golem spawners and made a lava trap for infinite iron. I only had good interactions with the staff even though I would often use an auto clicker and a cocoa farm with a piston and dispensers to make some quick money on the server. I was caught once by staff but they just told me to stop and I did. At one time I even got a 1-week pass for the lucky rank from the vote crate.


In the 2020-2021 reset, a different friend, MaoMachine and I played a lot on a total of 3 different islands resetting twice after feeling bored. On the first island, we made a bunch of gold after making a nether pigman farm. Eventually, we made a bunch of dicks out of gold on our island because we were 15 and thought it was hilarious. That is where I caught my first ban. In retrospect, I feel bad making the staff deal with a bunch of shithead 15-year-old that thought phallic objects were the peak of comedy. The same night after receiving that ban, my friends and I were feeling vindictive and started to exploit the block hunt skycoins. Again, I regret making the staff deal with us being shitheads.


Shortly after rejoining the server, we wiped our island and started again. Our previous gold farm didn’t get wiped because it was in the nether, but well working on this island the nether got wiped at some point and so we made a new gold farm. Again, we got a bunch of gold and a bunch of emeralds from trading the rotten flesh to villagers. This time we made something more constructive.


My friend and I wrote our last names in gold and emerald on top of our mob grinder. It was probably about 13 blocks thick and made us pretty high rank on the server. Eventually again, I did some naughty things. After being trusted on bellsday’s island to trade with her villagers, I took an elytra and a bunch of diamonds blocks. However, I flew into the void and died with her elytra and blocks meaning I caught a ban because I couldn’t return them. This ban is probably the one I feel the worst about. Not only did I make the staffs' jobs harder, but I also measurably hurt another player’s experience.

Coming back from this ban, I wanted to wipe my reputation clean and so I changed my name to PenguinCT, and my friend and I mutually decided to restart our island. We had a lot of fun on this island and built out a lot. We made a giant cod farm, pumpkin, and melon farm, and pigman farm. We had started work on a huge villager-based potato and carrot farm but never got to complete it.

All this happened during my Sophomore and Junior year of high school. Because of Covid, the whole year was online, and I played a lot of the server during class. Often tabbing back in to complete some schoolwork before returning to the game. This entailed going AFK for 10-20 minutes and then logging back into to play a bit before tabbing back out. Seeing the large number of times, I had been kicked for AFK, and then shortly after reconnected, Fireshadow assumed I was intentionally bypassing the AFK kick feature to make money with my AFK farms. I was given either a 24- or 48-hour ban. From my perspective, I saw the ban as bullshit and went into a discord call with Fireshadow to argue the ban with him. I blew up and was super rude. As a result, my ban became indefinite.

However, I didn’t stop playing the server there. Checking back in periodically on the dark_magepute account, I didn’t seriously play the server again until the reset. After the reset, MaoMachine and I started grinding again. We made a large witch farm, the server's first large iron farm, and a pumpkin and melon farm. For my entire time on the dark_magepute account, I tried to stay under the radar remaining a positive presence in the community, except for one practical joke on Fireshadow. At one point, I was even gifted the bottom rank by Kade.


After a couple of months, I got bored with the server and after a couple of days off, I tried to use the evidence of me being a (mostly) wholesome guy on the dark_magepute account to show my reformation. I knew this wasn’t going to get me unbanned, but I was fine with it.

At this point, I think I have moved on from the server and the ban doesn’t mean to much to me. Although I would like to be unbanned, I understand if you deny my appeal. I know I haven’t written this in the proper format, but thanks for reading, and giving me a great time waster over lockdown.
